Role Overview
We are seeking experienced and commercially minded Credit Controllers to join our freelance bench network. You will be deployed across client engagements to support cash flow optimisation, debtor management, and the strengthening of credit control processes.
This is a flexible, freelance opportunity, ideal for professionals looking to work across diverse industries and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage accounts receivable ledgers and ensure timely collection of outstanding debts
- Conduct credit checks and assess customer creditworthiness
- Develop and implement effective credit control procedures and policies
- Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues
- Monitor ageing reports and escalate high-risk accounts
- Support cash flow forecasting by providing accurate collections data
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Collaborate with finance teams to improve billing accuracy and reduce disputes
- Provide reporting and insights on debtor performance and trends
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller, Accounts Receivable Specialist, or similar role
- Strong understanding of credit risk, collections strategies, and debtor management
- Experience working in fast-paced or high-growth environments
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Xero, NetSuite, SAP, Sage) and Excel
- Ability to work independently and integrate quickly into client teams
- Professional qualification (AAT or equivalent) is advantageous but not essential
